Multi-screen IPTV: choosing 1, 2 or 3 screens

Multi-screen IPTV: should you choose a plan for 1, 2 or 3 screens? Start with the number of overlapping streams in your household. Two people watching the same TV use one stream. Two people each watching their own programme on separate devices use two.
Quick answer: count simultaneous streams
Choose enough capacity for the time when your household watches the most programmes at once. Owning three devices does not necessarily mean you need three simultaneous screens. Also check installation limits and usage conditions before switching between devices.
This guide is published by Trimix IPTV to explain how to choose your screen count. It is not a comparative test of providers.
Installed devices, screens and viewers: what is the difference?
| Term | What to count | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Devices with a player installed | Devices on which the player is installed. | A TV, a tablet and a phone. |
| Simultaneous streams | Videos playing at the same time. | One programme on the TV and another on the tablet: two streams. |
| People watching | Viewers, regardless of how many share one device. | A family watching one TV together: one stream. |
The permitted device count and simultaneous stream count are separate limits to check. Do not assume a one-screen plan allows unlimited installations. Likewise, a player’s “multi-screen” feature does not change your subscription’s permissions.
Which plan suits your household?
1 screen: you watch one programme at a time
Do you use the TV in the evening and sometimes watch on a tablet at another time? One simultaneous stream may be enough, if the terms allow switching devices. Stop playback on the first device before starting on the next.
2 screens: two programmes overlap
One person watches in the living room while another uses a second TV or tablet. This requires two simultaneous streams. Connecting both devices to the same Wi-Fi does not turn their two streams into one.
3 screens: three separate programmes at the same time
Three people each want to watch a programme during the same time slot. A three-screen plan provides that capacity. If the third device is used only after the other two stop, it does not add a simultaneous stream.
A simple calculation before ordering
Choose an evening that reflects your usual habits and note what is actually playing at each hour. Count the maximum streams running together, not the total devices used throughout the evening.
| Time of evening | Streams playing | Simultaneous capacity needed |
|---|---|---|
| 7 pm | Living-room TV only. | 1 screen |
| 8 pm | Living-room TV and tablet. | 2 screens |
| 9 pm | Tablet stopped; a second TV is on alongside the living-room TV. | 2 screens |
Three devices are used during this evening, but the maximum remains two simultaneous streams. Next, check that the plan permits your intended use of these devices.
How much do 1, 2 or 3 screens cost at Trimix IPTV?
These are the displayed 12-month prices, checked on 24 September 2026. They cover the full stated period, not a monthly charge. Always check the order summary before paying.
| 12-month plan | Displayed total price | Difference from 1 screen |
|---|---|---|
| 1 screen | €49.99 | — |
| 2 screens | €89.99 | 40 € |
| 3 screens | 139,99 € | 90 € |

Checks to make before using multiple screens
Viewing locations. Multiple screens do not automatically mean use at multiple addresses or on different networks is permitted. Confirm the conditions if you plan to watch away from home or at a second home.
Compatibility of each device. Check each model, operating system and player separately. An app available on your phone may not be available on your TV. Our setup guides help you prepare your configuration.
Your household connection. Multiple streams share the available connection. A plan with more screens does not increase your Internet speed. Test the devices together in their usual rooms at the playback quality you intend to use.
The second screen stalls: what should you check?
First stop the initial stream and try the second device on its own. If the problem continues, it may not be related to screen count: check that device’s login details, app and network.
If each device works alone but a problem occurs when they stream together, check your plan’s capacity, sessions still open and the shared connection. This test helps describe the issue; it cannot establish the cause on its own.

Frequently asked questions
Do two people watching the same TV count as two screens?
No: one programme playing on one TV is one stream, regardless of how many people are watching.
Is closing the app enough to free up a stream?
Stop the video explicitly before leaving the player. If a message says a session is still active, follow support’s guidance rather than repeatedly reconnecting.
Can I switch from 1 to 2 screens during my subscription?
Confirm whether changes are possible and what they cost before ordering. Do not assume an additional purchase automatically merges with your current plan.
Does a 3-screen plan improve picture quality?
Screen count concerns simultaneous use. It does not guarantee higher resolution: the source, player, device and connection also matter.
Choose the screen count you need
Use the highest number of streams that actually overlap, then confirm the permitted devices and locations. You can then compare Trimix IPTV plans for 1, 2 or 3 screens.
